Stock market investments do better over very long haul

Q. My wife and I are 30 and 31, respectively, and would like totransfer the $13,000 in our IRA account from a conservative moneymarket mutual fund to a more aggressive investment that would earn ahigher rate of return over the next 30 years or so. I have heard ofa Chicago-based research firm, Ibbotson Associates, that saysinvestors holding stocks over any 30-year period would have donebetter than in bonds.
