Fed: New chairman appointed to health research council
Professor JOHN SHINE has been appointed the new chairman of the National Health andMedical Research Council.
Health Minister KAY PATTERSON says Professor SHINE, of Sydney's Garvan Institute, willbring a wealth of experience to the council.
Senator PATTERSON also announced the appointment of 25 members who with chief executiveProfessor ALAN PETTIGREW and another three yet-to-be appointed members will form the council.
The current research and strategic research development committees will merge to forma revamped research committee under the leadership of Professor JUDITH BLACK.
